My Front Door

This post was contributed by Dr. Richard Davis, MD. Ever since I was a kid I lived in a house fitted with a front door and a lock. That door was put there for a reason – to keep uninvited things out – bad weather, squirrels, vagrants, and anything else that might be potentially dangerous. In fact, every home that I have ever seen has a front door. I guess everybody wants to keep bad things out too. Welcome to my front door.

My Front Door

Is our nation any less important than our home? So why is everyone so upset with Mr. Trump for saying we need to protect our borders to keep potentially dangerous uninvited guests out of our country? Forget the propaganda, here is what Mr. Trump actually said on December 5, 2015:

“We need a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

The mainstream media immediately began a smear campaign labeling Mr. Trump “a racist,” a bigot,” an “Islamophobe” and every other disparaging name imaginable. There is only one small problem with this characterization. The Donald was right; and you agree with him. Yes, you do.

According to the best information available, approximately 85% of the “migrant population” are not Syrian families seeking asylum, as the mainstream, media would have you believe, but rather they are military aged men coming in from war-torn areas all over the Middle East. Add to this fact that a 2015 survey conducted by the Center for Security Policy found that one-quarter of U.S. Muslim respondents believed that violence against Americans (including suicide bombings) was justified as part of global jihad and that a slim majority “agreed that Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to Sharia [Law].” This means that approximately one in four of these migrants who are streaming across our borders are have been radicalized to believe that God has called on them to purify the Earth of anyone who is not a true believer in Muhammed. Governor Bobby Jindal is quoted as saying: “Immigration, without assimilation is invasion…”

President Teddy Roosevelt said it another way: “We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here does in good faith become an American and assimilates himself to us he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed or birth-place or origin. But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American and nothing but an American. If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn’t doing his part as an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room for but one soul loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American people.”

To put all of this into a context everyone can understand, Obama’s immigration policy is like greenlighting a swarm of stone-age people pouring through your front door with 25% of them Hell-bent on killing you and your family the first chance they get. Do you support that? Mr. Trump simply wants to close the door until we can develop a way of determining who is our friend from who is our enemy. I ask you; is that racism, or bigotry, or just good common sense? Mr. Trump just wants America to be safe. That’s it. Nothing more. Hillary, on the other hand, wants to increase the flow of these people by 550%. WTF. I mean, really; that is insane. However, out of my civic duty for tolerance and trendiness I propose an experiment to gather the facts: Anyone who supports Ms. Clinton with this idea needs to show their support by removing the front door of their home so anyone can come in. Then we’ll see how well that works out for you. What? What’s that you say? No? You don’t want to do that? Oh. Okay. Then nothing more needs to be said.
